Every time I tell my parents about my boyfriend, they look at me with bewilderment. Their main argument is: “He earns too little, how will you build a future with him?” I try to convey that for me, it is much more important how he loves, supports and understands me.
Yes, we don’t have millions and expensive cars, but every day I feel happy next to him. We laugh together, dream about the future, and his attention to me is priceless. How can I explain to my parents that money is not the only thing that makes a relationship strong? They only see the material side, but forget about the most important thing – the feelings that unite us.
Many people think that success is measured only by money. But I am sure that true love can overcome any difficulties. My boyfriend is willing to work and succeed, but it’s important to me who he is as a person – sincere, kind and caring. Isn’t that more important?
My choice is not easy, and I still have to explain my position to my parents. But I know for sure: love and support for each other is the foundation for a strong relationship. I hope that one day my parents will understand this too.
