‘Improvised’ hero: 13-year-old boy uses slingshot to rescue sister from kidnapper

Looking after your children is similar to having a job and given the responsibilities that come with it, it is easy to understand why. Unfortunately, eyes are never enough and one must always be vigilant, especially when it comes to keeping an eye on small children.

The family, protagonists of this story, knows something about it, who avoided a tragic event, thwarted thanks to the coolness and quick reflexes of the young son: he literally saved his 8-year-old sister.

It all happened very quickly: a few minutes and it was over. In the city of Alpena, in Michigan, an 8-year-old girl was playing in the garden of her house, looking for mushrooms, and everything was going normally. At least, that’s how it seemed.

Not far from that garden, a man suddenly came out of the woods and pounced on the little girl: he “closed” her mouth with one hand and began to drag her violently towards the bush. The young girl tried to free herself in every possible way, but without any significant results…

But all this did not go unnoticed in the eyes of her 13-year-old brother, who immediately understood the alarming situation that was unfolding before him and promptly decided to intervene, using all his courage.

The boy was inside while that horrible event was taking place and he immediately ran out of the house to save his little sister who was in danger. But not before he had grabbed his trusty slingshot.

So he loaded that toy gun with an unspecified object and “fired” at the attacker who threatened the child’s safety. He hit him in the face and the individual relaxed his grip on the girl, who was then able to escape from his clutches. And he hit him again. This time in the chest and the man gave up his evil intentions and fled in pain into the bushes.

Thanks to her brother, the girl is safe, but understandably upset, as is her entire family. In addition, the police managed to capture the person who had attempted that crime: it is a 17-year-old boy, also identified by the traces left by the shots of the catapult, reported Lieutenant John Grimshaw.

The 13-year-old has become a great little hero thanks to his actions: when it comes to defending loved ones, we are ready to give the best of ourselves, sometimes even exceeding our own expectations. Well done boy!
