Whether it’s accidental or intentional, having children at a very young age requires a lot of patience, maturity and sacrifice. Of course, it’s not a “classic” or usual pattern: youth has to pass before considering settling down and starting a family! However, fate wanted this British couple to end up skipping all the stages. At the dawn of their twenties, Billy and Ellie are already parents of 4 children! It’s hard to imagine how they manage to make ends meet… here is the reality of their daily life, told by the Mirror newspaper.
They dream of starting a big family!

Billy (20 years old) and Ellie (21 years old) live in the United Kingdom. They are a rather unusual couple. While young people their age are carefree and only think about going out to party, these two have already built a home.

“It’s true, our lives are not typical of other people our age. It’s hard to believe, but we’ve always been family-oriented. We both dreamed of having children. So we made it work (…). When I found out I was pregnant with Lola, we started saving and sacrificing everything, like going out, going on weekends, and buying new clothes. Luckily, we were both still living at home, rent-free, so we were able to save as much as we could. We saved on everything, even food!”, the young woman explains.

They were so happy when they welcomed their little girl that they hoped to soon give her a brother or sister. Their prayers were answered. Unfortunately, the pregnancy ended in a heartbreaking miscarriage. The couple took this loss very badly, so much so that when Ellie became pregnant again, they were assailed by doubts. “It was both exciting and scary,” says the mother. “Once you lose a child, it can be traumatic to be exposed to the risk of losing them again,” she emphasizes.

The surprise of the century!

Even though they were anxious, they wanted to hold on to the hope of a happy outcome this time. And, twist of fate, at the 12-week scan, they were told that they were expecting not one but three babies! Needless to say, they were completely shocked. Can you imagine their astonishment at this unexpected news? Ellie was pregnant with triplets! Knowing that her doctor made it clear to her that a multiple pregnancy is far from easy to live with and that childbirth was not without risks. No matter the threat hanging over them, the young parents were determined to see the adventure through to the end.

The couple was surprised by this beautiful news, but decided to continue the pregnancy by following all medical recommendations. “We are well aware that we don’t have the typical life of other people our age… However, knowing that we are expecting triplets is a real shock for any mother, at any age!”, admits Ellie. Fortunately, Ellie and her partner knew they were mature enough to take on the challenge.

A real challenge on a daily basis…

The triplets were born prematurely, but in good health. When they arrived into the world, they brought joy to their parents and their older sister Lola. “I know it must be difficult for people to understand our motivations. Given our age, many people don’t understand why we would throw ourselves into such an adventure blindly. But you have to understand that we have always dreamed of having a big family, that’s what drives Billy and me. We succeeded once with Lola, I know it will be the same with our other children (…). In fact, even the nurses were impressed by our maturity when we took care of our babies,” confides the young mother.

It is indeed difficult to understand what could push young adults to give up the activities of their age to play mom and dad so prematurely. Especially when we know that they will be subjected to all sorts of pressures, tensions and responsibilities on a daily basis. But, it is a very personal choice, after all. Even if their life is now turned upside down, with 4 children under the same roof, Billy and Ellie seem to have the nerves of steel to build their home and provide for their family. Against all odds, the couple has managed to save enough money to be able to buy a house. These young parents command respect because they have a sense of values ​​and priorities, they devote themselves entirely to work and family.
